Artificial Intelligence - Get AI before It Gets You!!

Ok class, it's time for more scary tech stuff! 😆

By now you've probably heard a lot about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sites like Chat GPT. Then throw in all the movies about the robots taking over the world and you're ready to head for the hills. Well 1 - wait for me and 2 - let's have some fun first. I'm going to share with you what my friends and I have used AI for.

Question: What is artificial intelligence?

Answer: Artificial intelligence (AI) is the development of computer systems that can perform tasks that would normally require human intelligence to complete. These tasks include things like recognizing speech, identifying objects in images or videos, making predictions based on data, and even playing games like chess and Go.

AI is based on the idea that machines can learn and improve on their own, without human intervention. This is done through a combination of machine learning algorithms and data processing, which enable computers to recognize patterns in data and make decisions based on that data.

AI has a wide range of applications, from helping to diagnose diseases in healthcare to optimizing supply chains in business. It is also increasingly being used in everyday consumer products, such as smart speakers and virtual assistants.

Experiment: Writing lesson plans

Question: Write me a lesson plan to teach verbs

It gave me everything from objectives to an assessment and EVERYTHING between. As a teacher this is sure to put a smile on your face. I won't post it here because I'm trying to avoid the boredom factor so I'd say definitely try it. You might want to specify a grade level though.

Question: I asked it to imagine an African woman with basket.

Result: It gave 4 images and from these I could upscale (U) or have it generate a variation (V) of one of the images.

The possibilities with AI are endless. What do you want to try to do with it? It may seem silly to you but I dare you to run with it. I've found a lot of tutorials on YouTube while writing this post, and they have been very helpful. So go "try ah ting" and see what happens!
