How to Ace Anything!

The word “ace” may evoke thoughts of school and all the A’s we did or didn’t get. Then we go down the rabbit hole of thoughts and now we’re wondering, “Is she gonna tell me that I need to study more?” Nope, not at all! Actually, I plan to tell you to cheat.

However before we get to the fun part, I need you to be in the right headspace.

Confidence
Yes you need to believe that you can do it blah blah blah. So tell yourself one of those uplifting quotes: “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear” - Mark Twain; or a scripture: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phillipians 4:13. Keep in mind that neither you nor I know it all and we never will. One of my professors, Dr. Griffin, once drew a diagram on the board like this (I'm paraphrasing this ok?)

He then told us that the circle represented all there is to know about computer science and the dot represented all that he knew. That has been a constant reminder to me that I need to remain open to learning.

       Now for the fun stuff!

✍ Make Notes 📖
Yup that’s it. Make notes. Whether these notes are videos, screenshots, written or typed, it doesn’t matter. Make notes of how to do anything and everything that you need to remember. Create your own “How To” manual that you can consult at any time. I once had a job as an animator and as I learned, I made notes. I added video clips and screenshots to my personal manual. This helped me tremendously. Even if you think the information seems too simple, that’s quite fine. These are your notes, your “cheat sheet”. I still do it now in my present job. I have notes of all the stuff I should, might or might not, remember. Need a start? Here’s a free simple google doc that you can download (in any format you prefer) and edit.

Don’t worry. I won’t leave you hanging. Below are instructions on how to download it.

Now go forth and win!
